MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects has just completed Schematic Design of the Greater Sudbury 220,000 s.f. Multi-Use Recreational Complex and Site Master Plan. MJMA was selected from a short list of project teams to provide preliminary design and feasibility for the proposed Multi-Use Recreation Centre to serve the Greater Sudbury Region.
Selected elements of the building program include: four NHL sized ice pads (including a 1,200 seat signature rink), walking track, leisure pool facility, multi-purpose space, restaurant, offices & public concourse. Selected elements of the outdoor program include: 2 lit grass multi-use fields, 2 lit artificial turf fields (one with air supported dome), multi-use trail, skate park, NCAA basketball court, and playground. The project team includes: Associated Architects - Yallowega Belanger Architects, Civil Engineer - Northland Engineering Limited, Geotechnical Engineer - SNC Lavalin Geocon LKM Engineering, Cost Consultants - A. W. Hooker Associates.
