Viktors is a founding partner of MJMA, and has helped to establish the firm's projects as internationally recognized models for a new form of hybrid community building, that brings together different user groups under one roof. Viktors has dedicated his career to sport and recreation with a unique expertise in aquatic and arena programming, planning, and design, comparable to few in the industry.
 
Vik's prolific output and contagious enthusiasm has motivated clients, staff and stakeholders alike; over a 30 year span this has fueled his design leadership role overseeing the development of programming, site analysis, and concept design for much of the studio's highly recognized national and international work. Vik is a frequent lecturer at conferences, universities, and public design forums – presenting the work of the firm and the issues associated with the integration of urban design, performance sport, recreation and community programming. He is one of few Canadians participating in the global UIA Sports and Leisure Working Program, promoting the universal development of sports and leisure facilities. His big picture design thinking and relentless focus on issues of urbanity and city building is applied for greater civic use as a sitting member of the Toronto Urban Design Review Panel. 
 
Viktors graduated from the University of Waterloo, School of Architecture in 1981. He was awarded the Ontario Association of Architects Scholarship to conduct independent research in Switzerland and Italy. He subsequently taught at the University of Waterloo, School of Architecture's Rome Program and the Carleton University's Foreign Study Program.
